Bitwise ETP Listing and Regulatory Optimism Spark Lighter Price Volatility
The price of Lighter (LIT) experienced significant volatility over the last 24 hours, driven primarily by the launch of Bitwise's Lighter Staking ETP on Deutsche Börse Xetra. This new product allows European and traditional brokerage users to access LIT via a regulated, exchange-traded wrapper that is backed by LIT held in cold storage.
The news sparked an initial price surge, with LIT reaching a fresh all-time high of around $5.41 before eventually pulling back to the mid-$4.90s. The 24-hour net change was approximately -4.8%, despite the intraday spike.
Regulatory optimism for perp DEXs and derivatives also contributed to the price movement, with CFTC Chair Mike Selig stating that 'it's go time' for crypto regulation. This shift in regulatory stance is seen as a positive development for exchanges like Hyperliquid and Lighter, which are poised to benefit from this change.
However, concerns about token unlock risk and valuation have led some traders to rotate out or hedge, contributing to the price pullback. The large unlock schedule starting in late 2026 has been cited as a potential concern for LIT's long-term prospects.
