BIX Crypto Card Expansion Targets 20 New States in Six Months
Crypto card provider BIX is expanding its services across the United States. Currently available in 29 states, the company aims to reach 49 states within six to eight months. This expansion will enable users to hold USDC or USDT balances in a self-custody wallet while using the Visa card for everyday purchases.
The merchant still receives fiat through the conventional Visa payment system. BIX's product combines a stablecoin balance with existing card rails, eliminating the need for merchants to accept cryptocurrency directly.
State coverage is primarily a regulatory issue rather than a technological one. BIX relies on regulated banking, issuing, and payments partners whose permissions vary across jurisdictions.
