BlackBerry Shares Slide Despite Beating Q2 Earnings Projections
BlackBerry's shares (BB) fell nearly 4% after releasing its second-quarter fiscal results, despite surpassing both profit and sales projections.
The Ontario-based technology company delivered earnings of $0.07 per share, exceeding the Wall Street consensus of $0.04 by a significant margin of 75%
Quarterly revenue reached $163.3 million, outperforming analyst expectations of $142.5 million and marking a 26% year-over-year increase.
The strong Q2 results were driven primarily by the company's QNX automotive software division, which has seen increasing adoption within the automotive sector for advanced technological capabilities.
However, the company's forward-looking projections fell short of Wall Street expectations, with management guiding revenue to be between $149 million and $626 million for the fiscal third quarter and 2027, respectively.
