BlackRock Bitcoin ETF Sees $69.85 Million in New Bitcoin Purchases
BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, saw clients purchase $69.85 million worth of Bitcoin in a recent transaction. The buying process involves converting investor cash directly into Bitcoin to back new shares, reflecting the fund’s direct exposure to the cryptocurrency.
While this purchase is substantial, it is smaller than some of IBIT’s larger inflows this year, such as $195.6 million on October 1, 2026, and $183.41 million in July. The purchase also follows a nine-day inflow streak in late September 2026, where US spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively pulled in approximately $3 billion, marking their strongest run since October 2025.
IBIT has been a dominant player in this space, capturing approximately $1.2 billion in one strong week in September. Despite Bitcoin’s price hovering around the mid-$80,000s during trading periods, the fund has maintained strong inflows, even when other funds like Fidelity’s FBTC and ARK 21Shares’ ARKB experienced outflows.
Launched in January 2024, IBIT quickly became a leader in assets under management and inflows, offering regulated Bitcoin exposure. Throughout 2026, IBIT has frequently accounted for the majority of net category flows, even during periods of price volatility.
