BlackRock Expands Blockchain Offerings with Tokenized Money Market Funds
BlackRock has expanded its on-chain cash management offerings by launching tokenized money market funds on the Solana and Ethereum blockchains. The new funds are designed for stablecoin reserves, allowing holders to earn returns on short-term Treasuries and cash.
This move marks an increase in institutional interest in the tokenized money market sector. BlackRock's existing blockchain-based offerings include a tokenized share class of the BlackRock Select Treasury Based Liquidity Fund (BSTBL) on Ethereum.
The launch could indicate a trend of integrating stablecoin reserves with regulated financial products on public blockchains. The world's largest asset manager, BlackRock, has shown continued interest in blockchain-based financial products.
