BlackRock Shares Now Tokenized on Solana
Backpack Securities, the tokenization arm of the Solana-based platform, has listed BlackRock shares on its platform. The $BLK token is now live on Solana, offering users a blockchain-native version of BlackRock shares. This means that users can move, trade, and use the token on decentralized exchanges 24/7, outside of traditional stock market hours.
The listing is part of a broader rollout by Backpack and its partner Sunrise, which aims to offer tokenized versions of hundreds of stocks. In fact, Backpack had listed around 200 tokenized stocks by September 2026, with a goal of eventually supporting 10,000 symbols, covering a significant portion of the US equity market.
The CEO of Backpack, Armani Ferrante, has described the ambition to create a single API that ties traditional brokerage functions to decentralized finance, making it easier for developers to integrate the two worlds. Tokenized stocks on Solana have already seen significant trading volume, with over $4.9 billion in the first half of 2026, and holding 73% of decentralized exchange market share for tokenized equities in one measured week.
