BlackRock 'Staked ASTER ETF' Hoax Unfolds on Social Platforms
A fabricated regulatory filing claiming BlackRock planned a 'Staked ASTER ETF' spread like wildfire on social platforms, briefly putting the token in the spotlight. The rumor claimed that BlackRock would be launching an ETF related to staking products in the Ethereum ecosystem, potentially benefiting tokens like ASTER.
The fake screenshot looked convincing enough to spark excitement among traders, with some speculating whether ASTER could benefit from similar attention. However, Binance founder Changpeng Zhao intervened, stating 'Fake' and pointing out that ASTER doesn't need edited images to grow.
The claimed filing never appeared in SEC records, had no ties to BlackRock, and lacked any official correspondence, confirming the rumor as baseless. After Zhao's clarification, market focus shifted back to technicals, with ASTER remaining locked in a narrow trading band it has occupied for nearly two months.
