BlackRock Tokenizes Traditional Assets with Ondo Finance Partnership
BlackRock has partnered with Ondo Finance to launch three tokenized model portfolios on its blockchain platform. The portfolios focus on high growth, diversified growth, and high income strategies, combining stocks, bonds, and Bitcoin ETFs based on different approaches.
The partnership marks a significant expansion of BlackRock's tokenization strategy as financial institutions explore blockchain-based infrastructure. Ondo Finance is rolling out seven tokenized model portfolios across its platform, with the company issuing digital tokens representing each portfolio's performance.
Automated software will purchase underlying assets when users acquire the digital tokens, providing round-the-clock trading access to traditional financial assets through digital representations. The products remain linked to the performance of their underlying investments and are initially available in markets outside the United States.
