BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF Sees Record $1B Inflows as BTC Retreats
BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, IBIT, drew in over $1 billion across four trading sessions between September 17 and 22. During this time, the cryptocurrency itself retreated from above $87,000 to around $84,175.
The inflows were part of a larger trend, with U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs collectively attracting $2.31 billion during the same period. IBIT accounted for about 44% of this total.
Farside Investors data showed that IBIT received $183.7 million on September 17 and another $108.4 million the following session, before inflows accelerated to $381.4 million on September 21 and $350.3 million on September 22.
The ETF demand is significant because it continued while Bitcoin was pulling back, showing that fund inflows did not immediately disappear with short-term selling.
