BlackRock's Crypto Buying Spree Hits Record High
BlackRock's clients have been aggressively buying Bitcoin since the cryptocurrency's record high in October 2025. According to recent data, BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) recorded $208.9 million in net inflows on August 24 alone, accounting for approximately 62% of the day's total Bitcoin ETF inflows of $337.6 million.
This marks the largest weekly intake by U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs since October 2025, with a combined $2.6 billion flowing into these funds during the week ending August 21.
BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) also attracted $90.9 million, bringing the asset manager's total crypto ETF inflows to $299.8 million in a single session.
This buying spree coincided with Bitcoin's rally above $80,000, marking one of the strongest recoveries in the digital asset market this year. Since July 1, BlackRock has accumulated approximately $2.17 billion through IBIT, with more than half of those purchases occurring over the past week.
