BlackRock's Crypto Holdings Surge $15 Billion in August as Bitcoin and Ethereum Prices Rise
BlackRock's crypto portfolio has surged by $15.11 billion in August 2026, according to data from Arkham Intelligence. The firm's total crypto holdings now stand at $68.48 billion, up from $53.36 billion on August 1.
The increase is primarily driven by the value of BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which has risen by $12.66 billion to $60.35 billion. This growth is attributed to a significant rise in Bitcoin prices, with the asset increasing from around $64,722 on August 1 to over $79,515 at the time of reporting.
BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA) has also seen its portfolio surge by $2.45 billion to $8.12 billion. The ETHA gains are bolstered by a 27.26% rally in Ethereum prices, from $1,917 on August 1 to $2,439 at the time of publication.
In terms of holdings, BlackRock has purchased over 31,830 BTC, raising its Bitcoin holdings from 736,870 coins at the beginning of the month to 768,700. This represents a 4.32% growth in the firm's Bitcoin holdings over the past 27 days. Meanwhile, BlackRock's ETHA added 370,440 ETH, increasing its Ethereum holdings by 12.52%.
