BlackRock's Ethereum ETF Buying Slows Amidst Rallying Prices
BlackRock's Ethereum ETF buying has slowed by about a third in a week, even as Ether (ETH) rallied. The two funds, the spot iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) and the staking fund ETHB, purchased $1.01 billion of ETH over the past 20 trading days, but this is lower than the figure circulating a week earlier.
According to Cointelegraph's data, on September 17th, ETHA bought roughly $1.27 billion of ETH over the prior 20 days and ETHB about $296.5 million, with ETHB recording no single-day net outflows during that stretch. This total was around $1.57 billion.
However, a more recent analysis by TechFlowFarside Investors shows that over the latest 20 sessions, from August 24 to September 21, the two funds took in about $1.13 billion, with ETHA taking in roughly $897 million and ETHB about $234 million.
The slowdown is partly due to simple arithmetic, as a rolling window of 20 days means that each new session pushes the oldest one out. Late August was one of the strongest stretches for these funds this year, and as those sessions drop out, the headline number falls even while daily flows stay positive.
