BlackRock's Spot Bitcoin ETF Investors Suffer 40% Loss After Collapse

The average investor in BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF is down about 40% after Bitcoin's recent collapse, according to ETF Store President Nate Geraci.

This decline marks a significant drop from mid-2025, when the typical investor was still up around 30%, before those gains were wiped off by the drop in Bitcoin.

The $5 billion lost this year by spot Bitcoin ETFs is a worrying trend, with IBIT's assets down nearly half from its late-2025 peak of around $100 billion.

VettaFi's Cinthia Murphy attributed the decline to an emotional change, rather than fundamental shifts in the market. She pointed out that inflation worries, dollar strength, and a shift into AI equities are driving investor sentiment.
