Blast Shuts Down Due to Unsustainable Operations
Blast, a Layer 2 network, has announced its shutdown due to unsustainable operations. The team cited ongoing maintenance costs exceeding revenue generated by the network's Layer 2 activities.
The shutdown plan gives users until October 26, 2026, to withdraw their assets through Blast's normal interface. However, user withdrawals will be temporarily unavailable for approximately one week while the team processes its Lido holdings.
After this period, assets will remain accessible through direct interaction with Blast's bridge contracts on Ethereum Layer 1. The team has committed to publishing instructions for this process before the deadline.
