Blast Shuts Down Layer-2 Network Amid Revenue Shortfalls
The Ethereum layer-2 network Blast is shutting down due to operating costs exceeding revenue. The shutdown will affect users, who are advised to move their assets to the Ethereum mainnet.
The team behind Blast has announced that October 26, 2026, marks the final day for withdrawals through the normal interface. However, a Lido asset withdrawal will temporarily halt exits for approximately one week before the 24-hour delay begins.
In a statement, the Blast team said they no longer see a credible path toward economic sustainability and apologized to users and developers who supported the network.
