Blast Shuts Down Layer-2 Network Due to Financial Constraints
Blast's Ethereum layer-2 network is shutting down due to operating costs exceeding revenue. The team has set October 26, 2026, as the final day for withdrawals through the normal interface.
Before then, a one-week Lido exit will pause withdrawals, followed by a 24-hour delay before access resumes under the new schedule.
The shutdown affects users who have balances in the Blast PWA and those holding assets on Ethereum mainnet. The team has urged users to transfer their funds to Ethereum mainnet before the deadline.
This decision comes nearly three years after Blast disclosed a $20 million funding round from Paradigm and Standard Crypto in November 2023.
