Blink Wallet Restores Services After Attack on Custodial Accounts
Blink Wallet, a Bitcoin payments app, experienced an attack on its custodial accounts in late September. The attacker gained unauthorized access to a limited number of accounts and withdrew funds, prompting Blink to temporarily shut down its platform.
The company initially paused services while investigating the incident, stating that the large majority of funds remained secure. Its non-custodial wallets were unaffected by the breach.
Blink later narrowed the scope to a few dozen custodial accounts and confirmed that every affected account had been identified. Users whose accounts were compromised will be made whole without needing to take any action.
