Block Unleashes $1 Billion Campaign to Make Bitcoin Mainstream
Block has launched its first large-scale consumer advertising campaign to promote Bitcoin as an everyday payment method. The campaign targets around 60 million Americans interested in Bitcoin but have never owned it.
The ads depict people using Bitcoin for daily transactions, such as buying flowers and splitting a meal with friends. Block is positioning Bitcoin not as a speculative or investment asset, but as a currency for everyday use.
Miles Suter, Block's Bitcoin lead, said that Cash App, Square, and Bitkey are making Bitcoin easier to access and use. The company aims to show what a Bitcoin-centered financial system could look like through this campaign.
