Block Unleashes $60M Bitcoin Consumer Push
Block, Inc. has launched its first major Bitcoin consumer campaign, targeting approximately 60 million Americans who are 'Bitcoin-curious.' The campaign's central message is: 'Some things don't make sense. Bitcoin does.'
The pitch focuses on Bitcoin's design features, such as its capped supply and lack of middlemen, rather than its trading history. This approach is deliberate, as the company aims to appeal to people frustrated by the rising cost of living and broader economic instability.
Block's consumer push did not come out of nowhere. In November 2025, the company ran a policy-focused campaign called 'Bitcoin is Everyday Money,' which targeted lawmakers rather than shoppers. This earlier effort advocated for a de minimis tax exemption, which would ease the tax reporting burden on small Bitcoin transactions.
Block has been building its Bitcoin infrastructure for years, with three main products: Cash App for buying and sending, Square for merchant acceptance, and Bitkey for self-custody wallets. The company also offers incentives, such as 5% Bitcoin rewards on Cash App and automatic conversion options. Block's own balance sheet is also behind the thesis, with the company reportedly holding 8,883 BTC in its corporate treasury as of early 2026.
