Blockchain Association CEO Exits Amid Uncertainty Over Key Legislation
Summer Mersinger, CEO of the Blockchain Association, will step down on October 16 and leave her position by the end of 2026. She will remain as an adviser until year-end.
Mersinger joined the Blockchain Association in June 2025, after leaving her position at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. Her tenure coincided with major changes in US digital-asset policy, including the passage of the GENIUS Act and regulatory actions by the SEC and CFTC.
The Blockchain Association credited Mersinger with helping advance the GENIUS Act, which established a federal framework for payment stablecoins. She also lobbied regulators on issues such as perpetual futures, tokenized securities, and protections for software developers.
