Blockchain Association Sees Leadership Change Amid Crypto Bill Setbacks

The Blockchain Association has undergone a leadership change as it faces renewed advocacy challenges for regulatory clarity in the US. Summer Mersinger will step down as CEO on October 16, with Kristin Smith returning to the role on an interim basis.

Smith's return comes days after the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act failed to advance in the US Senate, where all Democrats and some Republicans withheld support.

Mersinger took over as CEO after leaving the CFTC and led the association through a period that included both major policy gains in Washington and last week's legislative defeat.
