Blockchain.com has expanded its operations to Ghana after reporting a significant increase in transactions from Nigeria. The London-headquartered firm stated that it had seen over 700% growth in transaction volume in Nigeria since it began retail services there early last year.

The company, which operates across more than 70 jurisdictions, already had organic demand from Ghana before its formal launch. Active users from the country increased by 140% over the past year, and transaction volumes rose by 80% on its platform.

Blockchain.com has established local compliance representation in Ghana and is working with regulators to develop a domestic cryptocurrency framework. Mobile money integration is also a priority, given the widespread use of mobile payment systems in the country.
