Blockdaemon Joins Cosmos Network to Bolster Tokenization Efforts
Blockdaemon, a leading blockchain infrastructure provider, has joined the Cosmos Partner Network, a coalition of companies working together to advance tokenization and digital asset initiatives in the financial sector. This partnership aims to simplify the process of assembling multiple technology providers, making it easier for banks and other financial institutions to deploy digital-asset products. Blockdaemon's existing platform secures over $110 billion in digital assets for more than 400 institutional customers.
The Cosmos Partner Network was launched in September with 17 initial participants, spanning various services required by financial institutions, including custody, compliance, security, and infrastructure. Blockdaemon's inclusion brings institutional-grade blockchain connectivity and digital-asset infrastructure to the group.
This partnership has significant implications for the growth of tokenized deposits and related financial applications, including around-the-clock settlement, treasury management, and programmable escrow. As financial institutions move more assets and payment activity onto blockchain networks, the combination of institutional infrastructure and tokenization technology could support broader adoption of on-chain finance.
Cosmos said only a small portion of major global banks currently have live tokenized-deposit capabilities, suggesting that the market remains at an early stage. However, the partnership could help address one of the principal obstacles to wider blockchain adoption: the need to integrate infrastructure from multiple specialist providers while maintaining regulatory and operational standards.
