Block's $Billions Bet on Bitcoin: Making Crypto 'Everyday Money'
Jack Dorsey's Block is launching an advertising campaign to promote the use of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange. The push comes at a time when the US is experiencing an affordability crisis, with high prices being a major concern for voters ahead of the midterm elections.
The company announced that the campaign will run across various platforms, including YouTube, X (formerly Twitter), Meta, Instagram, and television through Fox Sports until December 31. The ads will also be shown in theaters during select screenings of movies Avengers: Doomsday and Dune 3.
According to Block's Bitcoin Lead, Miles Suter, the campaign is meant to illustrate what a Bitcoin-centric financial system could look like and how it can make a meaningful difference in people's lives. The company has been focused on building financial products that make everyday life easier, including its Cash App, which allows users to send and receive and buy and sell Bitcoin.
Block has also been involved in other initiatives related to Bitcoin, such as the development of a Bitcoin mining rig with swappable parts. Dorsey's vision for Block is centered around promoting the use of Bitcoin as a global currency.
