Blockstream Launches Swaps Service After Boltz Shutdown

Blockstream has launched its swaps service in beta after Boltz suspended all swap operations due to automated, AI-assisted attacks and several exploits. The shutdown affected not only Boltz but also other companies such as Bull Bitcoin, Aqua, and ZEUS, which relied on Boltz's swap infrastructure.

Boltz had been struggling with these issues for months before finally suspending its operations on August 3rd. In a statement, the company said 'attackers now iterate faster than a team our size can find and patch'.

Blockstream claims that its swaps service was already in development before the shutdown and supports Bitcoin (BTC), Lightning, and Liquid. The service is being tested with selected participants, and organisations can request beta access.
