Bluerock Acquisition Corp. Enters SPAC Market with $150 Million IPO Filing
Bluerock Acquisition Corp., an alternative asset manager overseeing around $20 billion in real estate and private credit, has entered the SPAC market with a $150 million IPO filing. The blank-check company, trading under NASDAQ tickers BLRKU and BLRK, filed its registration statement with the SEC on November 6, 2025, offering 15 million units at $10 each. The prospectus does not restrict Bluerock Acquisition Corp. to any particular industry, leaving room for potential Web3 applications.
The SPAC closed in December 2025 with $172.5 million in proceeds, exceeding its initial target of $150 million by $22.5 million. R. Ramin Kamfar leads the company's strategic direction and has been instrumental in driving Bluerock's broader investment platform, which has historically focused on real estate and private credit.
Interestingly, the crypto connection lies with Bluerock Fund Advisors, a separate arm of the organization that operates a Cryptocurrency and DeFi fund. However, there is no explicit mention of this fund being connected to the SPAC in the registration filings.
