BMNR Stock Falls Amid BMine's Aggressive Share Buyback and Ethereum Treasury Expansion
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) saw its stock fall by over 2% at the opening bell on Monday, despite the company's efforts to buy back shares and bolster investor confidence. In just three weeks, Bitmine has repurchased a total of 16.1 million shares, with 4.5 million of those added last week alone.
According to Executive Chairman Tom Lee, this move is driven by the company's faith in Ethereum's strengthening fundamentals, particularly after its strongest relative performance against the Nasdaq 100 in over a year. In July, Ethereum outperformed the index by 25 percentage points, and Lee sees this as a positive sign for the crypto market.
Bitmine has also continued to add to its Ethereum treasury, purchasing an additional 10,399 ETH over the past week to bring its total holdings to approximately 5.79 million ETH, representing about 4.8% of Ethereum's circulating supply.
