BMNR Surges After Ethereum Purchases, But Valuation Raises Concerns
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) has seen a sharp rebound in its share price after new Ethereum purchases pushed its holdings close to 5% of total ETH supply. The company's disclosed US$14.9 billion crypto and moonshot portfolio has also contributed to the renewed interest.
The 30-day share price return is 39.01%, while the 90-day share price return is 29.40%. However, the share price return year-to-date is still down 20.13%, and the 1-year total shareholder return is down 45.87%.
Despite this, momentum is rebuilding from a weak starting point, with longer-term holders experiencing a mixed picture that includes a 3-year total shareholder return of 132.87% but a 5-year total shareholder return that is down 55.18%.
The company's valuation is also under scrutiny, with a preferred Price-to-Book (P/B) multiple of 1.3x being significantly lower than both the US software industry average of 3.1x and its peer group average of 5.5x.
