BMNR's Ethereum Milestone: Is the Upside Already Priced In?
Bitmine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) has crossed a significant milestone by controlling over six million ETH and staking 84% of that stash. The company's MAVAN platform targets institutional staking revenue as a recurring business line.
Despite recent choppy trading, with the share price slipping 2.6% on the day and 5% over the past week, BMNR still shows a 12.8% 30-day share price return and a strong 90-day share price gain of just over 2x.
However, this latest enthusiasm around ETH holdings and the MAVAN platform is working against a deeper history of volatility for longer-term holders, with a year-to-date share price decline of 14% and a 1-year total shareholder return that is down almost 50%.
The company's valuation is based on its P/B ratio, which currently stands at 1.4x book value compared to 3.1x for the broader US Software group and 6x across its peer set. This suggests a clear discount to many software and crypto-exposed peers while still reflecting the market cap of about $16.6 billion.
A DCF model, however, presents a very different picture, valuing future cash flows at just $0.01 per share versus the current $26.84 price, indicating a stock that screens as heavily overvalued on this framework.
