BMO Discloses XRP Exposure Through Regulated ETFs
Bank of Montreal (BMO) has disclosed its exposure to XRP through two regulated U.S.-listed ETF products in its latest 13F filing. The bank held 323 shares of the Rex Osprey XRP ETF and 20 shares of the ProShares Ultra XRP ETF, valued at more than $303 billion at the end of June 2026.
The positions formed part of BMO's investment portfolio, which gives the bank access to XRP price moves while avoiding direct crypto custody. This is not the first time a Canadian bank has used regulated funds to access cryptocurrency markets; National Bank of Canada also reported XRP exposure during the same period through 3,848 shares in the Bitwise XRP ETF.
Recent 13F filings show that XRP fund ownership is shifting from larger early investors toward midsize asset managers and family offices. The filings reflect holdings as of June 30 and may not represent current positions because 13F reports can arrive up to 45 days later.
