Solana Network Stalls on Routing Glitch

Solana's network came perilously close to halting on Wednesday morning due to a routing glitch at hosting provider Teraswitch. The fault affected 28.83% of all staked SOL, leaving only 5 percentage points from reaching the threshold where Solana stops finalizing transactions.

According to Marinade Finance, which reconstructed the incident, the network got as high as 86% towards halting before recovery began. This near-miss highlights a structural weakness in the Solana ecosystem.

The affected validators were largely concentrated at Teraswitch's Miami site and an internal relay in Amsterdam. The problem was identified within 10 minutes, but full recovery took around 33 minutes.
