BNB Chain Launches Hackathon to Boost Tokenized Stocks Ecosystem Development
BNB Chain is launching a $20,000 hackathon to boost development of its tokenized stocks ecosystem. The online event, called The BNB Hack: Tokenized Stocks Edition, will run from September 16 through October 11 and focus on building blockchain-native applications tied to tokenized equities.
The chain's bStocks platform has already seen significant growth since its June 2026 launch, with over $5.2 billion in cumulative trading volume by mid-September. The platform offers 1:1-backed tokenized versions of US equities as BEP-20 tokens, allowing users to trade around the clock and settle trades near-instantly on-chain.
The hackathon aims to accelerate development of tools such as better trading interfaces, portfolio management dashboards, analytics tools, and DeFi integrations that let users lend or borrow against tokenized equity positions. The 1:1 backing model used by bStocks means each token represents a claim on a real share held in custody, distinguishing it from synthetic stock tokens.
