BNB Chain has taken legal action against a former employee accused of unauthorized access to a tutorial wallet's seed phrase. The individual allegedly used the address to create a new memecoin, Asteroid Shiba (ASTEROID), and made significant profits from its sale.

According to BNB Chain, the employee created a wallet for a video tutorial and retained unauthorized access to the associated seed phrase. The company claims that the former employee later used this information to generate a new private key and create ASTEROID tokens.

The network has cooperated with relevant authorities in the investigation and has denied any involvement in the creation or promotion of ASTEROID. Changpeng 'CZ' Zhao, CEO of Binance, reposted BNB Chain's statement and described the former employee as 'basically a scammer.'
