BNB Chain Sues Former Employee Over Unauthorized Meme Token

BNB Chain has taken legal action against a former employee accused of using a company-linked tutorial wallet to create and promote an unauthorized meme token.

The employee, whose identity was not disclosed, retained control of the wallet's seed phrase after leaving the company and used it to generate the token as part of a video tutorial.

BNB Chain denied any connection to the token or its deployment, stating that they have no control over either the token or the wallet.

The incident highlights a gap in how publicly associated wallets are retired when employees leave, with BNB Chain emphasizing the need for a documented retirement process and clear communication about the status of company-related addresses.
