BNB Chain Surpasses $1 Billion in Tokenized Shares Market
Tokenized shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the BNB Chain have surpassed the $1.1 billion mark, making it the first blockchain network to achieve this milestone. This accomplishment positions BNB Chain as the leader in the rapidly expanding market for tokenized assets, capturing approximately 30% of the global market share.
The total value of tokenized equities and ETFs across all blockchains is now around $3.7 billion. Ethereum follows BNB Chain with $828 million in assets, holding a 22% market share, while Solana ranks third with $738 million, representing 20% of the market. The growth of this sector has been remarkable, with the market size increasing more than fivefold from roughly $719 million in January.
BNB Chain's dominance is notable, especially considering its market share has grown significantly since January, when Ethereum led with 48%, Solana had 31%, and BNB Chain held only 13%. Despite the growth in absolute holdings on Ethereum and Solana, BNB Chain's market share has surged due to its rapid expansion.
Binance Research data indicates that there are approximately 1.8 million addresses holding tokenized shares on BNB Chain, which accounts for 45% of the industry's total addresses. The network supports products from platforms like Binance bStocks and Ondo Global Markets. However, investors should be aware that tokenized shares may not always confer the same rights as traditional shares, including voting rights, dividends, and legal ownership conditions.
