BNB Chain's Pasteur Hard Fork Set for August 25 Boost
BNB Chain is set to activate the Pasteur hard fork on August 25, aiming to boost security and capacity on its network. The upgrade will introduce bridge and validator security fixes, as well as higher tested throughput.
The hard fork will retain the existing block interval of 450 milliseconds and gas limits, but with improved processing efficiency. This is expected to increase transaction processing speed, with controlled testing showing a rise from 1,237 transactions per second to 2,324 under the same conditions.
BNB Chain has emphasized that these figures are based on controlled environments and not live mainnet traffic. To ensure smooth transition, node operators must update their BSC client to version 1.7.7 before activation.
