BNB Chain's Pasteur Hardfork to Boost Capacity Amid Binance Sanctions
The BNB Chain is set to undergo a significant upgrade known as the Pasteur hardfork on August 25, aiming to further optimize its network speed and security.
The upgrade follows previous improvements, including the Fermi upgrade that reduced block times to 0.45 seconds and the Osaka/Mendel upgrade that ensured network stability at this pace.
The Pasteur hardfork includes three key proposals: BEP-682, which strengthens bridge checks by preventing duplicate validators from being counted multiple times; BEP-695, which handles validator key changes and ensures security during consensus key rotations; and BEP-675, which significantly increases throughput by reducing the execution time of transactions.
Meanwhile, Binance has blocked transactions with 16 crypto platforms due to new US and EU sanctions. The affected platforms include Shelbit, Aban Tether, A7 Nigeria, and others, and users may face compliance reviews or restrictions on transfers involving these platforms.
