BNB Smart Chain Hits Sub-Second Finality with 70x Speed Boost

The BNB Smart Chain (BSC) has achieved sub-second finality, settling transactions in approximately 0.65 seconds under normal conditions.

This marks a significant improvement from the roughly 45-second finality times recorded in 2022, a 70x speed boost according to the BNB Chain community.

The introduction of deterministic 'Fast Finality' through BEP-126 and combined with shorter block intervals achieved through hard forks, brought finality times down to the current level.

This milestone represents a critical operational shift for exchanges, custodians, and bridges, which can now leverage BSC's finalized state via the JSON-RPC finalized block tag, improving user experience and liquidity management.
