Bons Targets Hoskinson in Cardano Governance Dispute Over Scaling

Cardano's governance has erupted into controversy as Justin Bons, founder and chief investment officer of Cyber Capital, called for Charles Hoskinson to be removed from the project. The dispute began when Hoskinson proposed moving some governance discussions to a moderated Discord server, which Bons claimed would give IOHK-aligned groups control over which arguments reach delegated representatives before on-chain votes.

Bons also attacked IOHK's delivery on scaling, stating that Cardano's maximum capacity is about 23 transactions per second in 2026. He argued that this is due to block size limits and 20-second block times. Hoskinson defended the proposal as part of Cardano's Voltaire-era governance cleanup, aiming to reduce noise and limit algorithmic fights on X.

However, Cardano supporters pushed back quickly, accusing Bons of spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) during a sensitive governance phase. They argued that many users are tired of governance arguments flooding public timelines and want more attention on products, dApps, and ecosystem growth.
