Brandt Predicts Ethereum Could Reach $8,600 if It Breaks Above $5,000
Peter Brandt, a well-known trader, has released a long-term chart for Ethereum that predicts it could reach $8,600 if it first breaks above $5,000. This projection is based on a chart derived from Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) Ethereum futures and suggests that Ethereum could increase by about 219% to reach this target.
In an interview, Brandt stated that 'If Ethereum reaches $5,000, it implies it can eventually go to $8,600.' He also emphasized the importance of breaking above $5,000 as a key indicator for future price movements. Currently, Ethereum is trading around $2,693, which means it would need to rise by about 86% to reach $5,000.
Brandt's chart also presents a near-term resistance level at $3,000, which Ethereum has been steadily approaching since early September. Additionally, the chart suggests that Ethereum spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) have recorded their largest daily inflow since October 2025, with approximately $270 million flowing in on September 21.
