Brandt Remains Skeptical of XRP's Investment Potential Amid Institutional Partnerships
Veteran trader Peter Brandt remains skeptical about XRP's investment potential, despite its growing institutional partnerships and utility in transactions worldwide. According to Brandt, his issue isn't with XRP's usefulness but rather the uncertainty surrounding its supply over time.
Brandt argues that transactional usefulness doesn't automatically translate into investment value, drawing a comparison between XRP and the US dollar. Just as people don't buy dollars as a speculative investment because they're constantly used for transactions, Brandt believes the same principle applies to XRP.
He also pointed out that real value is only established when a market can clearly identify when an asset is overpriced or underpriced, something he says XRP hasn't demonstrated yet. In contrast, Bitcoin sidesteps this problem entirely because it's positioned purely as a store of value.
