Brandt Sees Altcoin Season, But Stays Focused on Bitcoin
Veteran trader Peter Brandt says the cryptocurrency market could be setting up for what he calls the 'mother of all alt-coin seasons.'
However, despite his optimism about altcoins, Brandt is sticking with Bitcoin (BTC), citing his approach to trading after 50 years in the futures market.
'For me, risk control is everything,' Brandt said. He prefers to steadily increase his net asset value (NAV) 'with drawdowns not to exceed 5% or so, from peak to valley.'
Brandt pointed out a potentially bullish Bitcoin setup, calling it a 'bear trap immediately followed by a springboard.' This pattern can be powerful, he added.
Van de Poppe also agrees that the market could see stronger altcoin gains this cycle. He specifically highlighted Ethereum (ETH), predicting it could rally to $15,000-$20,000 in the current bull run. The previous cycle was 'extremely weak' for altcoins, he noted.
