Brandt Separates XRP from Bitcoin on Value Proposition
Veteran trader Peter Brandt continues to express skepticism about XRP's value proposition. In a recent discussion on Cointelegraph's Trade Secrets, he acknowledged that XRP is a useful and cheap transactional cryptocurrency but questioned whether its utility alone justifies its market valuation.
Brandt contrasted XRP with Bitcoin, which he views primarily as a store-of-value asset rather than a transactional asset. He noted that an asset's ability to facilitate transactions does not automatically determine its worth in the market, comparing it to traditional currencies like the U.S. dollar.
The trader also expressed concerns about XRP's supply, suggesting that if its total could grow or be expanded in the future, this would impact its value. However, according to XRP Ledger documentation, the maximum supply of XRP is capped at 100 billion tokens and no additional XRP can be minted.
