Brandt Stands Firm: XRP's Utility Doesn't Guarantee Investment Value
Peter Brandt, a veteran trader, remains skeptical about XRP's investment potential despite its growing institutional partnerships. He argues that utility and value are not synonymous, citing the US dollar as an example where widespread use does not translate to speculative investment.
Brandt questions what happens to XRP's supply over time, stating 'There's things we don't know about XRP.' He believes real value only gets established when a market can clearly identify when an asset is overpriced or underpriced, something he says XRP hasn't demonstrated yet.
He also compares XRP to Bitcoin, which sidesteps this problem by being positioned purely as a store of value. Brandt notes that Bitcoin isn't immune to long-term uncertainty, pointing to quantum computing as a future risk that could potentially compromise its underlying cryptographic architecture.
