Brandt vs Aljarrah: XRP 'Fool Coin' Label Sparks Heated Debate in Crypto Community
Veteran trader Peter Brandt has called XRP a 'fool coin', but his skepticism hasn't deterred Black Swan Capitalist founder Versan Aljarrah from defending the asset's potential. In an interview with Coinpedia, Brandt expressed doubts about XRP's investment value, citing its use in payments as not automatically making it worth more.
Brandt pointed out that people don't buy dollars for their transactional use case, and similarly, XRP's utility should eventually force the market to find a real value. However, he considers XRP's supply picture still unclear and views Ether and Solana more favourably.
Aljarrah pushed back against Brandt's label, arguing that it shows ignorance of what has been built around XRP. He highlighted three developments: legal clarity, institutional build-out, and regulated products, which he believes demonstrate the asset's growing adoption and utility.
