Brandt vs Aljarrah: $XRP Price Prediction War Erupts
Veteran trader Peter Brandt has sparked a price prediction war after labeling $XRP a 'fool coin'. Brandt, who has traded markets for more than 40 years, questioned whether $XRP's use in payments gives it investment value. He argued that a transactional use case does not automatically make $XRP worth more.
Brandt pointed out that nobody buys dollars because they are useful for transactions, and he views $XRP's supply picture as still unclear. He also expressed skepticism towards new crypto tokens, warning investors against chasing them.
However, Versan Aljarrah, founder of Black Swan Capitalist, disagreed with Brandt's views. Aljarrah argued that Brandt's $5.40 price target shows where the price could go, not why $XRP matters. He pointed out that $XRP's fundamentals, such as legal clarity, institutional build-out, and regulated products, are strong.
Aljarrah accepted that $XRP's future as a bridge asset for global settlement is not settled, but he argued that dismissing the fundamentals means ignoring a shift in payments, tokenization, and settlement that is already underway.
Aljarrah advised investors to hold their own thesis and use charts as a tool, not a crystal ball. He also expressed his opinion on Brandt, stating 'He's a fool in my humble opinion, like most people in this ecosystem.'
