Brandt vs. Aljarrah: XRP Price Target Sparks Heated Debate
Veteran trader Peter Brandt has publicly questioned the value of XRP as an investment opportunity, labeling it a 'fool coin.' However, his stance was swiftly countered by Versan Aljarrah, founder of Black Swan Capitalist. Aljarrah pointed out that Brandt's price target of $5.40 for XRP is simply a trade call and does not reflect the asset's underlying value.
In an interview, Brandt argued that XRP's use case in payments does not necessarily make it valuable as an investment. He cited the example of the US dollar, which is useful for transactions but still subject to price fluctuations. Brandt also expressed concerns about XRP's supply dynamics and warned investors against chasing new crypto tokens.
Aljarrah countered that Brandt's views were based on a flawed assumption. The founder pointed out that XRP has made significant strides in recent times, including gaining legal clarity with the SEC case closure and the launch of its regulated stablecoin RLUSD. He also noted that investment products tied to XRP are now available, giving institutions exposure through channels they already use.
