Brazil Tops Crypto Adoption Rankings as US Trails Behind
Chainalysis released its latest report on the state of cryptocurrency adoption around the world. The report found that the total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies halved in the past year, with a $2.1 trillion contraction.
The economic activity underneath it fell by 1.6%, according to Chainalysis' data. Key highlights from the report include $9.4 trillion in onchain activity for the year ending June 30, 2026, and cross-border stablecoin value rising by 77.5% to $220.3 billion.
Brazil took the top adoption spot with a $252.5 billion crypto economy, ahead of the U.S. In fact, Brazil ranked first in every measure except onchain balances, where it came fourth.
Interestingly, while the market's value dropped by half, the value flowing into crypto businesses fell by only 4.3%, and domestic peer-to-peer activity rose by 302.9%.
