Brazilians Flock to Crypto Over Stocks as Low-Income Earners Drive Growth
A recent survey conducted in Brazil has revealed that two-thirds of Brazilians know about cryptocurrency, with Bitcoin and Ethereum ranking as the top two most popular digital assets. This represents a 10% rise in adoption since 2025.
The survey polled 2,004 respondents across 137 municipalities and found that 17.2% have already invested in crypto, surpassing the 7.4% who have invested in the stock market. Brazilians who have invested in crypto outnumber those who have bought stocks by more than double, estimated at around 29 million investors.
Crypto investment is concentrated in banks, with 83% of surveyed crypto investors using bank apps and infrastructure to acquire and hold digital assets. Over 77% of these investors earn less than three minimum wages, making crypto a popular choice for low-income Brazilians, dubbed the 'people's coin'.
