Brazil's Tokenization Market Set to Scale to Billions
Tokenization in Brazil is leaving its experimental phase behind and may enter a period of growth on a billion-dollar scale, driven by advances in infrastructure, greater participation from financial institutions, and expectations for clearer regulations.
Diego Consimo, head of the XDC Network for Latin America, sees private credit markets as the most mature area to accelerate in the coming years. According to him, technologies and business models have passed an important validation stage and now depend more on scale and a defined regulatory environment.
Consimo noted that the next step is to improve infrastructure and advance regulations so large participants can expand their presence. 'Billions will be more natural in our daily lives,' he said.
The development comes as the Brazilian securities commission, CVM, advances its DLT pilot program to test distributed ledger technology in areas such as issuance, trading, custody, and settlement of securities.
